Of course, it’s not as glamorous as a Queen’s Jubilee, and The Economist, French citizens from French speaking London and other France, Germany, and/or Euroland bashers may smile at “la souris accouchée par la montagne franco-germanique”.
Let’s read a bit more about it anyway : http://renaudfavier.com/2013/01/20/la-cinquantaine-cest-un-bel-age-en-tout-cas-cest-de-circonstance-pour-celebrer-le-traite-de-lelysee/

Bonus : some may like more glamorous (and British) Jubilees.

France and England have been neighbours for quite a while, and one may have have thought, that they could have made friends to enjoy the world’s show. But they just seem to be unable to stop competing against each other, whatever the cost.
That’s the way it is (c’est comme ça) …

Some additional e-reading may be needed about Franco-British competition, serious games and other issues in Europe, France and other places these days. (Please click on pictures).
Downloading some relevant pdf for printing is another option for readers with a taste for “real” paper books (or just no Kindle).

Not that the French could be as “mad” as the Brits about the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, or as interested as many other people about non French speaking rock singers, but they know they must watch abroad theses days, as real things happen.
Yes, things happen, abroad.
And for those who have already seen and heard the concert, who know everything already about the Jubilee, the Queen and England, the French and the World, or who just feel like reading about ongoing changes around old Europe in … French, well, they may e-read some French eBooks about changes and other relevant issues.

Last time so many ships were seen on the Thames River was 350 years ago, long before the Empire was built with united energy and intelligence, then preserved with great Royal talent. Even before the Cutty Sark sailed first. Bravo @ all in Britain.
The old Lady (the Cutty Sark, of course, honni soit qui mal y pense) will be happy to hear what so many boats have to say about so many seas since so many years, all the more since she can’t herself sail “odlschool way” for Queen and Country anymore.
One may not always agree with the Brits, especially when French, but one must admit they did a great job at sea over centuries, even if one may regret not to see the Queen’s picture under the sun of the other side … of the world, in Hong-Kong too. Anyway, please Click on picture to hear “Rule Britannia”.
To wait for the naval extravaganza, the James Clavell novell “Tai-Pan” novel is as close to pefect as possible. Otherwise, to read in French about less British changes in the world as it goes nowadays “the other side(s)”, please click on pictures.
