Shadows, bl… shadows …

Credits : Paul Noth - The New Yorker Cartoons

The New Yorker Cartoons A cartoon by Paul Noth from the magazine (11/11/2014). For more: http://nyr.kr/1pAm4My

In a nutshell in globbenglish (click hereafter for british-coffee-please/) If even the secret hidden (hideous ?) powerful brandy drinking bl…dy ba..rds of the oldschool Washington powerhouses cannot do the job, we normal people have a situation these days and little hope that things may go better by themselves …

In other words in old French (click hereafter for certains-laiment-court/) La théorie du complot global des mains invisibles est excitante, et le fantasme du “shadow” gouvernement centristes en France est amusant, mais sérieusement, si on avant un gouvernement “normal” moins tragi-comique à Paris, ça ne pourrait qu’aller un peu moins vite vers le pire …

Good game, #Scotland … Same player shoot again #ScotlandIndependence …

In English, they say : Good Game, and her Majesty would add “We are amused”

In Germenglich, they say : Lieber s…tuffed like Salmond als savaged like Wallace

The Auld Allies in France say : C’est la vie (et l’avis de la majorité, pour cette fois)

De Gaulle would have said, in London, or Edinburgh  : “Vive l’Ecosse … libre !”

That’s all I have to say … for the time being.

Every pizza is world-famous for 15 minutes, now … How did Warhol know about Twitter and Selfies ?

More about it all (and the rest), without any boring mushroom pizza, lukewarm jokes, or meaningless  selfies (in French, but with pictures and music for people with a clicking tool) : http://renaudfavier.com/2014/03/05/375-000-visites-pour-le-blog-cafe-du-matin-a-paris-sans-photo-de-buisson-aux-toilettes-ni-autres-pornolitiqueries/

Maybe reading in coffee (better e-coffee, like “Café du Matin à Paris“) could help.

When it’s Tea Time in Europe, it may be Brunch Time East Coast, and Breakfast Time on Pacific Coast. But it’s Always “Café du Matin à Paris” Time

les-jardins-plein-ciel

Of course, not everybody everywhere wants to drinks tea, when it’s “tea time” in Paris, France … And of course, the people who love  “Café du matin à Paris” are not just “anybody”. But the good news is, it’s free to like it anywhere, everywhere, anytime.

Some more “West Coast” (and free) readings about future.

I have a Franco-German Dream …

3159547388

Should France and Germany merge into a single economic body, that would create the third economic powerhouse in the world, right behind the United-States and China, with 147 million people and a common GDP close to 6,000 bn dollars …

673808-france-germany-diplomacy-history-eu

Of course, mega-mergers are management nightmares and big dreams may fail (small is beautiful, some have been saying and re-saying for a while), there are a few issues including Euro-things, some national political realities and quite a lot of economic constraints, to begin with, and of course not all French, neither all Germans, nor their neighbors and partners have that same dream, all the less, since even people who know well, or love, or both know and love well Europe, don’t necessarily feel like learning and speaking German, French or both on top of English or whatever works to survive and be reasonably happy in XXIst century real Europe.

Europe According to the United States of America

Source : unknown, probably not (pro)European, not German, not French

And of course, it may not be taken for granted, that nowadays’ French and German leaders could be up to the job (not everybody is Konrad Adenauer or Charles de Gaulle), or may at least manage to join forces and share visions to save the Euro(pe).

Yes, things change, and time flies, or vice-versa … Happy New Year anyway

Let it change ...

Of course, most of us in town regret the lovely, slow steam trains in the beautiful mountains. But those who travel 3rd class in rainy seasons may have a different opinion. And if some love museums and antiques, let them spend their holiday in France.
