(Changing) Soft Power …

No doubt Washington (and/or Silicon Valley) is the world’s master of soft power.

President Trump is a global leader of the Twitter video game …

America is great at regulatory and financial arms-twisting …

And GAFAS are of course yet to be challenged masters of the internet …

As is Hollywood for movies influence.

But, try to type “G20 Argentina”, or “protectionism” in Google … chances are you will reach the (Chinese) “Global Times”, not the Financial, the London, or event the Strait Times …

And search Youtube for the G20 in Buenos Aires, and you will find a bunch of videos from (Chinese, english speaking) CGTN, (and to a lesser extent Russian, based in Berlin, Germany, but english speaking RUPTLY channel, or Al Jazeera) …

How effective is China’s soft power strategy remains to be seen …

But things are changing fast.

To yellow, or not to yellow ?

Paris, November 2018

Things are getting better in France, at least from a fashion viewpoint, aren’t they ?

Think out of the box to get out (upwards) of the #Brexit chaos

There seems to be a Dr No’s black hand (and crazy brains) behind the mirror in the Brexit scenario, doesn’t it ?

Or, rather, a “Casino Royale” (but of course the 1967 “original”) flavour …

Anyway, whatever, whoever the James Bond, the question is : can somebody save Britain, Europe, and possibly the world as we know it and have learned to manage to cope with, from post European Union mess and oldschool bureaucrats leadership ?

Or are we all doomed to chaos (note how the 1967 “goodies” strangely look like Nespresso coffee capsules) under the ruling of psychotic dwarves ?

Let’s hope, that, whatever happens, wherever this all leads us, we have an enjoyable journey …

RF – November 18th, 2018

Byzeway, may I suggest some way out ?

Why shouldn’t Britain resign (no, not reign) Europe, as Brexit voters suggested, and then join either Ireland, or Scotland if and when independant, to enjoy Europe without disrespecting voters ?
