It could have been worse in #Cannes this year

OK, weather was a disaster at the Festival this year, the stars and parties were disappointing, journalists and people were … as usual and the “Palme” was again awarded to a boring sad love story with Trintignant*. But it could have been like 1968 …

* : the 1966 “Palme d’or” was awarded to “Un homme et une femme“, Lelouch’s famous cha-ba-da-ba-da love story with Anouk Aimée and the then young Jean-Louis Trintignant who stars in Haneke’s “L’Amour”, which was awarded the 2012 palm. The 1966 jury seems to have decided, that Dr Jivago was lucky enough with its bonanza of Oscars but as the French film lacked the revolutionnary “grandeur” of Jivago, they shared the palm with an Italian, forgotten, comedy … As regards the 2012 jury, it could have been worse … maybe.
