Frenchonomics : Good News, We Know the French Paradox is a Fake ; Bad News, The French Don’t

French Ducks and Geese are happy : US ban on Foie Gras is good for their health and longevity. The bad news is, the French will eat enormous quantities of Foie for Christmas and New-Year even if they are bankrupt. Because this is the French “tradition”.

Yet another “Place to Be” in France this Summer (but with the same people as in Paris, far less taxis than taxes as anywhere in France, and unlike Saint Tropez, no helicopters)

La Rochelle, Plage des Minimes

Forget Paris and the Velib’, too commonplace and Paris-Plages is over. Forget Saint Tropez and Pampelone Beach, too nouveau-riche and Bardot is over. Forget Marrakech. The place to be now is La Rochelle, where the smart people go.

New France, where the smart (money) go (es away from)

Of course, France is now a socialist paradise, with a lot of lining up in front of empty places with red, great promises outside and red carpets speeches but no food inside and bikes instead of cars.

Do you know why we are queueing up ? No, who cares to know why, we have to, that’s the new way it is, maintenant

And unlike in Asian communist countries, the best and brightest don’t (all) escape to study in Harvard or Berkeley and create startups in Sillicon Valley or Boston, but (some, surely too many) stay and study in one of the many French graduate schools for civil servants with a view to become at best Minister of startups in Sillicon Sentier, at worst Minister of whatever doesn’t work in France like Industry, Small Business Growth, University, Innovation, Immigration, Housing, Economics, Ecology, Chicken, Export, Chicken Export …

Best an brightest, Junior-Minister of “Numeric Economy” under supervision of the Minister of “Industrial Renewal”

And the bad news is, France may be the sole remaining communist place in the world with an unrealistically overvalued currency German style but no black exchange market (yet) like they had in former DDR or other communist German Hinterland, refurbished Asian or Qatar owned hotels with remote controlled color TV and high speed internet but communist standard room service, and a business airport close to Paris with standard capitalist traffic jams but communist standard helicopter service for Party members and Government only, and far less taxis than taxes, of course.

Red Carper toward l’avenir is in La Rochelle, maintenant

Anyway, La Rochelle is the place to be, now, if you enjoy France or can’t avoid it.

Psssst boys, this is not the place where the girls are …

So far, so French so good, growth is around the La Rochelle corner.

Green (Lights) at Work in Poitiers, August 22-24 … or so some French Believe (in Frenchology)

The Rocky Green Picture Show Must Go On

Some French believe, that red politicians with green glaze care for nature and environment, that France can afford driving German Panzers if the children ride small bicycles, and that their French water and Chinese solar energy are clean and free.

Frenchology at work …

Let them talk and believe what they want about ecology and whatever other legends : they have done so for decades, if not centuries, nobody cares and the world is neither a better, nor a worse place to live in just because the French people, French politicians, French unions, French Euro and French business people are and talk … so French.

To be or not to be (French ? Wrong ?), that is the question …

The trouble would be, if the French decided to escape from France. Fortunately enough, they know, that the problem is the French, not France, and that if they go elsewhere, where people speak French, it will most surely be the same story of student strikes, big energy companies and endless political discussing like in some parts of Canada (which they still believe to be smaller than France, mostly French speaking and waiting for newcomers from old, poor France), crazy soccer like everywhere around France except Germany (and nobody would go settle in Germany unless starving and German speaking, neither of which is very frequent in France unless at military war time), and Qatar owned hotels and golfs like in France but more expensive than in France. So the escaping French usually stay very close to French food, medicaid and borders, with a preference for French speaking parts of Geneva, Brussels and London, which explains why they have built fast, air-con trains going there (and back because dentists, wine and cheese are so much cheaper in France) and don’t threaten to invade the rest of the world, with the possible exception of Marrakech, but the French fast train is still under construction there and will not be connected to France unless Spain is at sale and France can afford to buy it and rebuild the railways (which are not the same width as in France), which seems very unlikely. So, if some French believe, or even say, France is green, just let them believe, or even talk,  as long as they stay, believe and talk in their Green France and don’t interfere with Euro(pe) issues, British Olympics, serious soccer, real business or banking regulations (as regards building cars, it doesn’t matter, soon they will build only German and Japanese  cars like everybody else in Europe).

No panic, it’s just (France) Grass

So French, so good : “growth is around the (French) corner and all lights are green”.

Life is like a Swiss Chocolate Box, especially in Switzerland. Don’t let it Melt

Usually, the “have” are better off than the “have not” and money can help for a good, enjoyable, better, extraordinary life, especially in purpose built places like there are quite a lot in Switzerland. But not always, even in perfect places for the “have”.

Whatever Heat Wave in #Europe, the Mountains (and Frenchonomics) are Cool these Days in #France

OK, the Swiss have high mountains (though the Mont Blanc belongs to Euroland, unless somebody sold it to Qatar) and real “Gruyère” cheese named after a lovely village, but France (with foreign-owned hotels never on strike) is tourism World Champion !

But who cares about summits, as long as we have the Euro ? … To be, or not to be in Euroland, that has been the question for a while, now, and some answer, my friends, is blowing in the mountain’s wind …

Everything is cool under the sun in #Paris #France

France may be the best place to live happily under the sun. Some people (with a red carpet) say, it may not last forever. Some say, it may not last for long. But as long as the French manage with Frenchonomics and borrow money for free, it’s cool.

Some say, there ‘s nothing like a free loan lunch, and one needs to borrow a lot to afford French retaurants. Anyway, it’s still holiday time in France, always look on the bright sun salt sight side of France life and enjoy Paris-Plage as long as it lasts.

Please, kindly click on the French cat to read more about it in French (but never awake the sleeping cat, especially the fat kind, of course), or just find a way to bypass it and follow the beach reading in English.

It’s Summertime in #Paris #France, at last !

Summertime in Paris is all the better, since there are a couple of season’s beaches along the Seine River and less cars. Besides, with or without climate change, the weather is just great theses days. Let’s enjoy it, as good as it is, and as long as it lasts.

Suntanning is Has-Been, Be (Read) Smarter on the Beach

What can he read ? Where the hell did he buy this hat ?

If you’re quite anonymous and want to remain so on the beach, this summer, you’ll have to go for the standard beach clothes and read eBooks to prevent the  journalists to know what you read from the book’s cover. Otherwise, you’re in trouble.

What can they read ? Where the hell did they buy thoses clothes ?

Let’s enjoy #Paris Beach this Summer

Paris-Plages will remain open from July 20th through August 19th. Some people may prefer places with more aggressive mosquitos, more exclusive cigar smoke, a good jet-lag and fake Gucci glasses or Vuitton bags on sale on the beach. Let them  fly …

Please kindly click on hereafter pictures for a sample of French eBooks that can be downloaded on Amazon.com to e-read on the beach or wherever enjoyable in Paris or other nice places of the world.

Toast, French Baguette, Panini, Pita, Schwarz Brot ? Whatever works, #Europe at Economic #War needs Bred, Growth and Jobs

Mario Draghi, European Central Bank boss, is not crystal clear about how to “go back” and move forward simultaneously while preserving Europe’s social safety nets but he said it clearly : competitiveness is THE issue for Europe at economic war.
