Is Paris still the romantic city of love ?

Red-love-couple-coffee-mugs_1920x1200

Yes, Paris still is a city of free and happy love, even if even love may be taken hostage by French politics. Read more about it here :   and day by day on the blog “Café du matin à Paris” : http://www.facebook.com/cafe.renaud

Yes, things change, and time flies, or vice-versa … Happy New Year anyway

Let it change ...

Of course, most of us in town regret the lovely, slow steam trains in the beautiful mountains. But those who travel 3rd class in rainy seasons may have a different opinion. And if some love museums and antiques, let them spend their holiday in France.

European Fat Cats Suck ? And, they Drink, into the Bargain !

Fat Cat speak fast, eat fast, drink too ... fast

European Fat cats eat too much without thinking about the future of their children. They drink what they should export instead of thinking about whatever paradox that doesn’t work. And they seem pretty serious about sinking with their privileges.

Chabada Cat at Home Paris (c) Renaud Favier

Professional politicians are still doing good, year after year.

Always Xmas for fat_cats doing politics

Ecologist and other social (democrat ?) activists have learnt fast (fast cats ?)

Fat-cat after overdose of chili con carne

Banksters have been among the best adapted to the Euro environment.

Money fatcat

Well known Euro artists are attempting good enough (though they are nothing compared to English singing or playing global stars, not to mention soccer players with German cars or tennis retirees with Swiss chalets and accounts) but they sometimes lack talent and/or don’t train and work enough.

fat-cat-in-pot-attempt

Very watched (loved or hated, who cares as long as Paris talks ?) Depardieu is fat, too, but it is not the same Euro-Money Cat story. Not all people looking like fatcats, or even really being fatcats too some extent, are real Euro Fat Cats, the kind that kill their parents, f… their friends, never paid (more) taxes (than politicians), have been living in Ireland (like the unknown but screaming self-called writer Houellebecq), Patagonia (like maybe you know who, but I never remember the name of that other French screamer with a beard sometimes, sometimes not) or elsewhere like Gstaad (by the way, how is Johnny doing these days ?), Geneva (Montecarlo is not appopriate for French) or anywhere not too far, but not too close either,  from La Bastille (byzeway, where is Yannick these days ?) and have a nice Monday whatever end of other worlds (in French : “la faim dans le monde des autres”).

Fat-Cat--30630

One should not listen to Sardou or other French screamers like old politicians doing show-business or real business when growing still older, neither young show-business or other social activists doing politics when growing old enough to drive a car, being appointed ministers of unserious issues nobody cares about in France like culture, women, justice, digital economy, housing or nature, or cook a chili con carne themselves,  when they sing or talk or scream about Frenchonomics (meaning in normal XXIst century globish “economics that may work sur un malentendu with a lot of so French sens de l’humour”) , “égalité” (meaning in English “what is yours should be mine”) or other Euro-issues (meaningless nowadays), if one is not a French masochist. But reading, and thinking, may held avoid sinking into the ridiculous like Titanic or France, as the French (even ministers and other politicians) say when they haven’t smoked too much cannabis, and think when they are sober (which happens more than Xmas, when normal years used to be normal).

Quon-en-parle-plus-sardou

But anyway, who cares today about what and where French European Fat Cats will eat  and drink tomorrow, if any (or for Xmas, if any) ?

#FF @ Xi Jinping, who joined the G2 Club. Hopefully the World Managers will accept a G5 board

The quiet victory of Xi Jinping in China is not as twitted and buzzed as President Obama’s clean sweep of Mitt Romney between a storm and a snowfall, but the cook of the World’s Savers Club must prepare world food for two (or more) now. Fast.

But as we have (in most parts of the world) reached the XXIst century, full club membership should of course be authorized for ladies.

And as a matter of gender balance, a second Lady is advisable for dinner.

But of course, a Gang of Four may not be everybody’s cup of tea in the Club. Then, who else ?

Ladies first.

And why shouldn’t that be enough to do the job, folks ?

Provided the 5 don’t forget about nature, climate, biodiversity and all that stuff the ecolocrats discuss once a year on the beach with a daiquiri or Champagne.

Provided the 5 don’t forget about peace, economics, education, employment, security, food, health and all that stuff our local leaders should take care of but apparently can’t cope with (especially in a sustainable, win-win way).

Provided, that at least one of the 5 twits now and then in English about where we all are aiming at, now that e-world-democracy is here to stay.

Tea (green please), coffee (black of course) or wine (French if possible), whatever works as long as we can have Champagne (French of course) for Xmas and prepare for a Happy New Year 2013 …

Yes, Mr. President Obama, you could Win (nicely) and can Speak (well), but now, let’s Walk the Talk

Getting (re)elected is not that difficult, even G.W. Bush managed … But we can’t always be as lucky with perfect storms as most of us were with #Sandy, could you please now kindly jail some US banksters and help fix a few things in our common world ?

Let’s walk the talk, now.

Bonus

Everything you did’nt dare (or care) to know about what happenend (or not) in France recently (or so)

Some French politicians talk and meet about competitiveness ; some French civil servants have (long ago) written about it, and all French entrepreneurs think they must lobby, die or escape for it, rather in France. It’s “cheat or trick” time, French way.

October 23rd : the French watch the crisis on TV and discuss about Louis Gallois, French budget, French promises, French politics, French industry, made in France, French lost competitiveness and other living deads and ghost reports Halloween, or vice-versa, but nobody really cares, especially in France.

October, 22nd : half of the French minsters gather to discuss about France, fashion, and old book (a report by a former civil servant with an experience in the real economic world, more precisely, but reports get piled unread exactly the way most books do) and the season’s holiday to come, what else ? They decide they must talk more before they read anything clever, say anything clever or think anything, and meet again sometime after season’s holiday with more experts, politicians and something better to eat, or maybe later, or maybe not.

Maybe somebody should tell the French about real life the way it is now (and has always been, but don’t tell them, they would suicide or corner the Prozac market), that being rich and famous without working anymore or being really smarter or stronger with bigger guns (and guts) than others,  is no longer possible in #RealWorldXXIstCentury. That Romnesia is an option only if you a have serious savings and/or can be paid over 100 grands or more for small speeches. But that French Diseases is for … French, careless teenagers and soldiers at wars like in “good ole past before AIDS”, unlucky, non mormon, professional soccer players or politicians at whores, nowadays … And that death is an option, even if U are very very very much smarter than others, not that very very very old, at least compared to the Greeks, the Romans or the Egyptians, with a vision for a great future and a good sense of humor (tumor ? tumeur ? tu meurs ?) and a-propos.

October, 21st :  a view to a -French- kill a Corsican lawyer was murdered, most likely by Corsican gangsters, or nationalists, or both, in Corsica in his German fast car. Corsican business as usual, but as this happened in a Total Gas station, the French send the police as they don’t have James Bond to kill and kiss.

October, 20th : A French minister advertised for various “made in France” products, whereas the minister’s dame advertises for made  in France (very expensive) glasses. Some French people talk, think and/or read about it in a Paris newspaper. And some fashion-victims buy the tee-shirt. But nobody cares, although maybe the French ought to before it’s really to late for France and the French.

October 19th : the French #LMAO about a French Minister who #LMAO on TV about what he believes to be a fake about one of his colleagues who is in the habit of saying and making #LMAO things about made in France, but really hit world class level this time. Sometimes, in France, politics, TV, an even politicians on TV can be fun.

Sometimes, the French (ministers) have a good sense of humor, but it must be hoped, that both ministers (and some others) have a good, golden parachute. Because even in France, U needda work sometimes, even if U R a (sociali-s-te) minister.

October, 18th : French (alas) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 17th (or 18th, or 16th, nobody really cares about schedules or other logistics, in France) : French (alas) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 17th too (nobody is really afraid of replays, in France) : French (alas) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 16th : French (alas) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 15th : French FREEFALL (alas) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

Somebody (Angela Mekel ? The Swiss bank-st-ers ? The French “djeuns” ?) should maybe tell the French professional politicians when they are back from Toussaint RTT in Marrakech that tourism in beautiful sites and dialogue social in nice places cannot be the “mamelles de la France” in the XXIst century and that “l’économie vide-grenier” (in English or any other normal language in the world and the rest of the universe with a brain : “Frenchonomics“)  may be a logical option if eveybody emigrates and/or sells the real-estate, churches and other privileges to Qatari billionnaires or British retirees, but is not a very good “trajectoire de croissance durable et environnementale et compétitive et toussa-touça dans la justice et la bonne humeur” in the long run, not to mention that appart from few jobs for butlers, cleaners, cooks or whores in Asian or Qatari hotels for Russian oil billionnaires, American old millionnaires and Chinese marrying youngsters and other young businesspeople in Paris, what else to #occupy (and feed) the djeuns ?

October, 14th : French (alas) Green (or so they pretend) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 13th : French (alas) African (or Qatari, or Chinese, or American, or simply multinational, whoever better than the French, now) business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

Meanwhile, in old France, French lobbying and communautarism are at work (the unemployed and retired basically share the vision of the civil servants (or so they still are named), but not all the revenues, and those who work share neither, but they are a minority (report ?) and some not even live in France any longer if they could not manage to find a good “#geonpi niche”) … October 12th is off for blog writers without RTT just like for civil servants and other “damnés de la terre de France”, that’s the way it is !

October, 11th : a French (free) good and funny and sexy eBook (or so the self-called “writer” with a writer’s cat thinks it is). Because E L James ; Fifty Shades of Grey sex books are so bad now … and the portions are so small … is good, but Christmas and good jokes come more often.

October, 10th : French (alas) small talk about French food and French small business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 9th : French (dark past, gloomy present and frightening future) foie gras and export business (or so the French believe) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

October, 8th : French (vision of the law of the jungle) business lunches and (of course) deals between the (fat) cats and (fat) #geonpi (or so some French “pigeons” believe they are) as usual (or rather “normal”, or so the French think). Please click to read in French (because so the French write, and write, and write, and talk, and talk, and talk … and don’t read, and don’t listen, and don’t think, and promise, and promise, and promise and vote, and vote, and vote, and again, and again, and again …).

In a nutshell, nothing new under the French sun.

The French just keep thinking about themselves on TV or in French magazines ; watching themselves on TV ; talking about themselves on TV or in French magazines singing and laughing with a French accent and French clothes on (not only French) TV or (not only) in French magazines or international conferences, as long as ; they can speak English usual since they have TV and French magazines, but often with a better view when it’s (some) women talking and thinking (and counting).

So French, So Good

It’s time for a #change, now, François #Hollande says … but when is #France gonna go #Forward ?

Many people think, that it is time for some change in France. The kind of changes, that Germany and other European countries have accomplished over the last 10 years, and that all Club Meds except Greece and France have started 2 or 3 years ago.

#French #Ecology = Politic(ian)s under the Sun, be it of Cancun, Durban, Rio or #Paris

Not all greencrats of France could go to the Rio+20 global conference (for budget or hotel capacity reasons, but also because not all of them speak English), so French President Hollande agreed to speak at a green French conference in Paris.

Not that there was much to say, as the socialist plateform for the presidential election was only a few months old.

Not that there was a great new opening joke.

Not that there was much new or very impressive green under the French sun worth mentionning.

Not that there was much new that the French ecolocats could not have read on the internet since Rio+20.

But the French ecolocrats are not that different from the other ecolocrats of the world, and they love to meet top level politicians once a year, to discuss together now and then (preferably in French), and to visit nice cities (preferably not in France), preferably at seaside but not necessarily if the weather is nice, the food good and the Champagne cool.

And even if they don’t talk about the real issues because nobody agrees on solutions, neither on causes and not even on facts, they appreciate, that there is an occasion to talk about them even if it is missed as usual.

So, the French have organized a French conference, 14-15th September in Paris, and the participants will listen to speeches by several French ministers (at least 15) and a lot of French ecolocrats. French ecology (Frenchology) and French “changement” (the more, the less) as usual.

Dr. Sartorius and Mr. … Strangelove, I assume ?

Of course, the Brits, especially The Economist, have such a … so British sense of humour, that they may smile at everything, that makes the French look strange, incompetent, presumptuous, ridiculous, dangerous, self-destructing or just … French.

But it would Britishly unfair to laugh at communist Minister Montebourg of French rebuilding just because he didn’t worry about thinking before talking.

And it would so Britishly unfair to laugh at French Minister Montebourg of communism French industry rebuilding just because he loves “une bombe“.

And the Brits had better understand one thing : we Arnaud Montebourg ; Bernard Arnault French, are not amused when the French press is laughing at Arnaud Montebourg ; Bernard Arnault the French.

And the Brits must understand that we, the French neither loves Miss Maggie are not amused when the Brits The Economist laughs at the French.
But the Brits must know, that France has a good sense of humour, and the French can laugh at good jokes, even British ones, provided they seem to be laughing at others.
Anyway, the Brits should click here : http://renaudfavier.com/2012/09/13/docteur-sartorius-i-suppose/ or on the following picture to read more about France, the French, Minister Montebourg, 2012 and other strange, sometimes quite funny, sometimes very frightening, things.

Great #Draghi saves #Euro(pe) : Visible and Invisible Hands do the Job, but Who Writes the Story ?

Everybody agrees, that Mario Draghi has done a very good job over the last few months and a great performance last Thursday, which might as well have been quite black for Euro, Europe, the markets and real people. The invisible hand is happy.

(Please click on pictures if you don’t wanna be a potatoe couch watching the weather forecasts on TV and let others enjoy sun, success, beach, love, Champagne, French learning bashing whilst you seat back in your chair reading the Sun, the Guardian or even worse and more biased against civilisation, the Financial Times and the Economist).

Downloading some relevant pdf for printing is another option for readers with a taste for “real” paper books (or just no Kindle, but an iPhone, an iPad or whatever else works to e-read).
